The ChargebackProtection project was created by a group of American e-commerce companies. The idea for the system came up at a meeting where the IT managers of these companies came together to share their experiences. After several days of discussions, they decided to set up a system to address the problem of chargeback abuse and minimize the related economic losses. Considering that credit card companies have never shown any interest in reducing the impact of chargebacks on merchants, these e-commerce players have decided to launch their own free solution for the benefit of all e-commerce store owners.
